Former Chelsea attacker Katie Dungate has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Birmingham City on a free transfer.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this evening.

Dungate moves to St Andrew’s after leaving Chelsea earlier this summer. The player has signed an initial two-year deal with the Blues.

The England Under-19 international represented former club Chelsea at WSL Academy League level on a regular but she never made a senior appearance for the club. Dungate was the second-highest goalscorer in the WSL Academy League last season with 16 goals in 17 outings.

The youngster will now be hoping to show her goalscoring qualities at senior level during her time with new club Birmingham City.

After signing on with the Blues, Dungate said “I’m buzzing, I can’t wait to get started. Hearing about the strong season last year, and the group of girls that are here, I just knew this is where I wanted to be.Birmingham City confirm the signing of former Chelsea youngster -  Birmingham Live

“I will give 100% for the team. I like to get forward and combining with players and I like to get goals and assists.”
