In an effort to halt Nottingham Forest’s slump, Nuno Espirito Santo has told his players to spend more time together at the training facility.
In his debut match at the City Ground against Bournemouth, the Portuguese manager looks to snap a 13-game losing streak.
One of Nuno’s core convictions is that instead of leaving the field right away after training, his players ought to have lunch together and stay until the afternoon.
We have a larger lounge room at the training ground, which enables the players to spend more time and share meals together, the player stated. It’s the initial action.
Since most of our communication will be in English, those players who don’t speak the language must proceed with this.
‘Of course I can address them in French or Portuguese if necessary but they have to learn English to speak to each other, eat together. If you allow the players to finish the training session and go straight home, you lose a big opportunity for them to engage.
‘We have two nutritionists, so they have to justify their job! If you make sure the players eat well, then they can go home.’

While Nuno has pledged to give each player a fresh start, he has already put his team on notice because he feels it is too big. Although former manager Steve Cooper did not share the same views as defenders Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna at the end of his time, both are believed to have been re-assigned.
