GOOD NEWS: How the Cowboys’ kicker created history in their………

Kicker Brandon Aubrey of the Cowboys had never attempted a kick in a professional football game until two years ago. He’s currently making a name for himself in the NFL as one of the most accurate kickers.

In Week 14, Aubrey showed off once more during Dallas’ decisive 33-13 victory over the Eagles. He was successful on all seven of his kicks, including an incredible four field goals.

Impressively, Aubrey’s first make came from 60 yards away. It set a new career-high for the 28-year-old rookie and pushed Dallas’ lead to 10-0 at a time when many believed the Cowboys would punt.

Aubrey kept making long-distance kicks as the game progressed. He made three for more than fifty yards, one of which cleared the air and traveled 59 yards.

Aubrey made history by becoming the first kicker in NFL history to make multiple attempts in a single game from 59 yards or longer by making that boot. That made it easier for the Cowboys to gradually pull ahead of the Eagles and ultimately defeat them.

After making his professional debut in 2022 with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL, Aubrey’s career has taken an unexpected turn. Melissa Stark questioned him about that quick rise during NBC’s postgame show.

“If we had told you a couple of years ago you’d be here right now, what would you say?” she inquired.”

“I’m not sure I would believe you,” he answered.

However, Aubrey is still here and keeps creating history on the field. Here’s what you need to know about his stats so far in the 2023 NFL season, as well as against the Eagles.

Against the Eagles, Aubrey made all four of his field goal attempts and converted on the three extra point attempts he had as well. In total, he posted 15 points for the Cowboys, two more than the Eagles logged as a team.

Aubrey’s field goals came from 45, 50, 59 and 60 yards. He became the first player in NFL history to make multiple kicks from 59-plus yards in a single game, and he improved his overall mark on kicks of 50-plus yards on the season to 8 for 8.

Overall, Aubrey has now made an NFL record 30 consecutive field goals to begin his career; that has shattered the previous high-water mark of 18 by Travis Coons in 2015. And even more impressively, Aubrey’s streak is still ongoing through Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season.Below is a look at Aubrey’s overall stats from his debut campaign.

For the Cowboys, Aubrey’s consistency has been a blessing. And so his tiny cost has been.

In 2023, Aubrey’s base salary with the Cowboys is only $750,000. That was a part of a slightly less than $2.7 million three-year contract Aubrey signed with Dallas following his second USFL season.

According to OverTheCap.com, Aubrey has the second-cheapest kicker contract in the league among players on 53-man rosters with an average yearly value of $898,333. The only kicker cheaper is Chargers second-year player Cameron Dicker ($870,000).

Aubrey will be a fantastic value for the Cowboys if he can maintain his consistency in making field goals. He may also play a significant role in assisting the team in reaching their ultimate objective of making a Super Bowl run.
