The Celtics and Pacers’ NBA In-Season Tournament quarterfinal matchup is scheduled to begin at 7:30 EST on Monday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Although there are still issues with the NBA’s In-Season Tournament, it has already shown to be successful and is headed toward a knockout round and a Las Vegas final four.
It was further underlined by an exciting Tuesday in the Association, where fans were enthralled in games around the league regardless of the outcome, thanks to the importance of point differential as a tiebreaker.
One such instance was when the Boston Celtics defeated the Chicago Bulls 124-97, but in the fourth quarter, they started to use their starters again.
Even worse, Bulls big Andre Drummond was purposefully fouled by head coach Joe Mazzulla’s squad, forcing the unimpressive shooter to the free-throw line, where he missed both of his shots.
And when the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 115-103 on Tuesday, the Celtics secured their spot in the NBA’s first-ever In-Season Tournament quarterfinals. Boston had zero point differential going into the game.
Kristaps Porzingis is the only player on the C’s injury report, one day before they take on the Indiana Pacers in the elimination round. The seven-foot-three center is still sidelined after spraining his left calf during Boston’s 113-96 loss to the Orlando Magic on Thanksgiving Day.
The Celtics and Pacers play their game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday at 7:30 EST. Within The Celtics will post information about the game prior to, during, and following it. For pregame to postgame updates and commentary, follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter.
