The Detroit Lions lost their most recent Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field to division rivals the Green Bay Packers due to an injury sustained by linebacker Alex Anzalone in the fourth quarter. Regretfully, it has been determined that Anzalone will not be able to play in the forthcoming game against the New Orleans Saints and will not be traveling with the club for the game down south.
Anzalone had a hand injury late in the fourth quarter against Green Bay, forcing him to leave the field so that the training staff could evaluate and treat him. He hasn’t practiced this week.
He will not travel with the Lions to New Orleans
The NFL schedule, regrettably, doesn’t allow for players to recover from injuries, so the Lions will have to rely on their depth to offset Anzalone’s absence. Malcolm Rodriguez, Derrick Barnes, and Derrick Barnesare a few players the team will be counting on to assist lighten the strain.
