SOUTHS TURN BACK THE CLOCK WITH JERSEY CHANGE The Rabbitohs have unveiled their playing strip for 2024. Souths will wear the famous and historic red and green hoops jersey for the first time since 2006. It was the playing strip worn by the club in their inaugural season way back in 1908. Rabbitohs star Campbell Graham says it’s “very special to be going back to that tradition this season”.

“Those colours and that jersey which has the full hoops going all the way around the body have been part of this club since 1908,” Graham went on to say.

“The Rabbitohs’ wonderful traditions and history are what make you really proud to play for this club.”

“There have been so many great players in that jersey before us, like Clive Churchill and John Sattler, Mario Fenech and Les Davidson.”

“We really respect our history here at Souths and this jersey shows that.”

Meanwhile, Souths newcomer Jack Wighton has settled in admirably.

“You can tell from spending any time with him that he is enthusiastic about the game and what he can contribute here.”

Former NRL coach Nathan Brown will leave the Parramatta Eels after a short stint as the club’s elite pathways coaching director.

Brown joined the Eels midway through 2022 to lead a review into its elite pathways program in a bid to ensure local talent had the best opportunity to progress through to NRL level at the club.

The 50-year-old coached at the Dragons, Knights, Warriors and in the Super League and was also a coaching adviser for Parramatta’s NRLW team this year.

But his time with the Eels is now over, with Brown and his family to relocate to the Gold Coast.
