Tee Higgin, a wides receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, has come under fire recently for what is thought to be a lack of urgency in his recovery from an injury.

On November 30, Higgins told reporters, “I’m pretty sure people have been talking like that, but it’s cool” (via Fox19’s Jeremy Rauch). “My health comes first, regardless of what other people think of me.”

Higgins continued, “I’m here, and my main goal is to constantly support this squad. I’m happy to be here and to be in good health.

Higgins mentioned feeling almost 100% going into the Week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in his final statement. The wide receiver responded, “That’s the plan, for sure,” when asked if he would be making a comeback from his Monday night hamstring injury.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor Backs Tee Higgins, Explaining Cautious Approach From Organization

If Higgins is choosing to sit out, then he was successful in persuading head coach Zac Taylor to support him. On Friday of Week 12, the wide receiver’s careful rehabilitation was supported by the AFC champion coach, according to Pro Football Network beat reporter Jay Morrison.

Taylor said, “I think he’s on a good track.” “I’m inspired by his current state of development.

“It feels like [the injury] was a long time ago,” the speaker continues. It wasn’t.

The Bengals “just want to be mindful” of his recuperation, he continued. “[Higgins is] exerting himself during his rehabilitation, but there was no justification for incorporating him into practice so soon and running the risk of a setback if he did something unsupervised by the trainers.”

According to Taylor, Higgins was “trending in the right direction” toward playing this week.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins Is Still Looking to Accomplish Goals Despite Injury Setbacks

Higgins has missed four games this season due to rib cage and hamstring strains. In spite of everything, the playmaker is still hoping to reach his goals at the start of the year.

Higgins told the media, “I still have goals on paper, and I still have goals to accomplish this season” (as reported by Morrison on PFN). “I might be able to hit some of them, but I might not be able to strike others. You never know. My objective is to set and achieve such goals in spite of all obstacles.

The wide receiver mentioned that one of the team’s immediate goals is to assist them win in Week 13. He did not reveal what they were, though.

“Clearly, we need to win [against the Jaguars] and we want to win,” Higgins remarked. This has the potential to put us back on the path toward our goals. We are aware that there are still players in this locker room who can win games. All we need to do is fit the puzzle pieces together, work well with one another, and just play ball.

Shut off the cacophony and engage in some football. In the NFL, that’s usually the best course of action when something goes wrong.

That’s also Higgins’ best plan of action. When Jake Browning takes over at quarterback in the final month, he could command a higher salary before the crucial 2024 summer.
