Report: Following a severe injury, a star is confirmed

Eagles injury update: Dallas Goedert is expected to resume practice on Friday. This story was first published by NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Dallas Goedert, a tight end with the Eagles, made his practice debut on Friday after missing time due to a fractured forearm sustained on November 5 against the Cowboys.

This week, Goedert, 28, did not participate in the first two days.

Since the bye week, Goedert has missed the Chiefs and Bills games. However, there’s a reason why the Eagles left him off of the injured reserve list. Goedert would have missed four games if he had been placed on injured reserve. The Eagles were hoping he would return for either the 49ers or Cowboys game next week, which is why they decided against placing him on injured reserve.

Goedert’s return to practice on Friday signals he might be ready to play against the Cowboys in Week 14, even if he is unable to play against the 49ers on Sunday.

For Friday afternoon’s 49ers game, the Eagles must announce the game designations.

Goedert was not the only tight end to return to practice on Friday; Grant Calcaterra (ankle), who missed the Bills game and the first two days of practice this week, did the same.

The Eagles were still without Zach Cunningham (hamstring) and Fletcher Cox (groin) despite the fact that they had two tight ends return on Friday. They were both watching practice, though. Cox spent the first part of practice working on a side field.

Players rarely play in a week without practicing, but Cox, a 12-year veteran, hardly ever misses a game. So, we’ll watch that situation.

Lane Johnson (groin) is expected to return to action for the Eagles against the 49ers. He took part fully in the practice on Thursday and returned to the field on Friday morning wearing his uniform.

There was another guest at practice for the Birds. After his press conference on Friday, DeSean Jackson immediately headed to the practice field to announce his retirement as an Eagle. Along with a couple receivers and some of his former colleagues, including Jason Kelce, he chopped it up.

The article “Several important Eagles miss practice ahead of 49ers game” first aired on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The Eagles continued to prepare for the 49ers on Sunday at the Linc, missing practice on Thursday due to the absence of many key players.

On Thursday, there was no practice for DT Fletcher Cox (groin), LB Zach Cunningham (hamstring), TE Dallas Goedert (forearm), TE Grant Calcaterra (ankle), and S Justin Evans (knee).

Following a walkthrough on Wednesday, the Eagles released an estimated injury report that included all five of those players as non-participants.

The good news for Thursday was that, after being restricted at the beginning of the week, Lane Johnson and a few others were now full participants.
