Vincent Kompany is looking to bolster his front line ahead of the Premier League season
Burnley are set to complete a deal to sign Swiss international Zeki Amdouni from FC Basel.
Lancs Live understands a deal has been agreed for the forward to join Vincent Kompany’s men ahead of the new Premier League season. Amdouni would be the Clarets’ fifth summer signing after Lawrence Vigouroux, Jordan Beyer, Michael Obafemi and Dara O’Shea.
The 22-year-old attacker scored 22 goals in 52 appearances last season and was on target against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League semi-final. The exciting youngster also featured in the European Under-21 Championship this summer, scoring twice in four games for Switzerland.
On Tuesday morning the Swiss club tweeted: ‘Zeki Amdouni is currently not in training with the first team. He is about to make a move and is doing medical tests at another club.’
A move for James Trafford is still in the works at Turf Moor, while Coventry City midfielder Gustavo Hamer and free agent winger Nathan Redmond are being linked with the Clarets. The former has one year left to run on his Sky Blues contract, while Redmond confirmed his exit from Besiktas via Instagram.
His post read: ”To the beautiful Besiktas supporters. From the very first day I arrived you have shown me nothing but love and support. The nights at Vodafone Park, the derby nights and all those in between – when moments were tough and when moments were great, you shown consistently the amazing support that lets me know you are the best fans in the world!
‘It’s a difficult decision for myself and my family to not return and wear the black and white jersey this season – but in the 1 season I spent with you guys, I’m forever thankful for the memories, and history we created together. I will be following the team for the future and I wish nothing but the best! Thank you once again. It is not goodbye, it’s see you later. Eternal love, Nathan.’
