Burrow’s return date has yet to be announced by the Bengals.

He’ll have a long week to relax and heal before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in another divisional matchup.

The Bengals are currently 5-5, so they might yet make the playoffs despite the fact that the division appears out of reach.

However, that would necessitate nearly faultless play for the rest of the season, and they have one of the most difficult schedules ahead of them.

The former gunslinger stated on The Rich Eisen Show that Jake Browning is a much better quarterback than most people think.

He praised his performance as a replacement for Burrow on the road and against a division opponent, and praised him for remaining calm and poised against the elite defense of the Baltimore Ravens.

He also mentioned Browning being terrific in college, praising his pocket awareness and touch on the back shoulder.

This season has been difficult for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Their season appeared doomed from the start when Joe Burrow sustained a calf injury in training camp, with many pleading with him to stop playing through the ailment even if it meant missing the playoffs.

Furthermore, this club has already demonstrated that it cannot win football games without Burrow at full health.

They had a difficult start to the season due to his calf injury, but once he was healed, they looked like a Super Bowl contender again.

If he’s going to miss time, maybe Zac Taylor and company should start thinking about the NFL Draft and prepping for the upcoming NFL season.
