Dean Henderson has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer, with Nottingham Forest close to signing him.
According to a report from ESPN, Manchester United are set to agree on a £20 million deal for 26-year-old English international Dean Henderson, who he is heading to Nottingham Forest this summer.
The 26-year-old was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, and he did reasonably well for the Tricky Trees. They are hoping to sign him permanently this summer, and it remains to be seen if the move goes through in the next few days.
Henderson needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and sitting on the bench at Old Trafford will be detrimental to his development. The 26-year-old will be hoping to push for a place in the England setup especially with the European Championships coming up next year.
Meanwhile, Manchester United might need to sign two goalkeepers this summer. David de Gea has already left the club upon the expiry of his contract, and he will soon be replaced by Andre Onana. The Red Devils will need to bring in a replacement for Henderson as well if he decides to move on.
Manchester United have been linked with a number of goalkeepers recently, with Zion Suzuki being a top target. And it will be interesting to see who they end up signing. Henderson has previously proven his Premier League pedigree during a loan spell at Sheffield United, and he could be a key player for Nottingham Forest in the coming season.
The 26-year-old has the attributes to develop into one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Manchester United will be hoping to reinvest the £20 million proceeds from his sale into the playing squad.
The Red Devils are back in the UEFA Champions League and will be hoping to push for the league title next season. They will need to sign better players to compete against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City next season. So far, the Red Devils have signed Mason Mount in a big-money move from Chelsea, and they will need to improve their defence and attack before the summer transfer window closes.
