The Boston Celtics and Kristaps Porzingis have had a solid start to the 2023-24 NBA season. The Celtics are currently 8-2, having won three straight games in front of their home fans at the TD Garden, and Porzingis has looked quite comfortable in his new gear since being traded from the Washington Wizards this winter.

However, fans were given a scare when it was reported that Porzingis will be labeled as doubtful for the Celtics’ next game, Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers, due to a right knee contusion, according to Josue Pavón of CLNS Media. Neemias Queta, who is also classified as questionable for the 76ers game with a right foot ailment, joins Porzingis on the injury report.

Due to a scheduling snafu, the Celtics will face the 76ers on the road for the second time in as many weeks. The first game was won by Philadelphia after a Kristaps Porzingis three-point jumper brushed off the rim with only seconds remaining. The 76ers are currently 8-1, having won eight straight games to take first place in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, things are almost as good for the Celtics. Of course, the Latvian big man’s storied injury history has been a source of concern for Boston supporters since the deal was revealed, but happily, his current knee condition appears to be nothing catastrophic.
