Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is quietly confident on being able to call on three of his key players against Leicester City after they were all forced off the pitch in their last outing.
The Whites visit the King Power Stadium on Friday night for the big Championship clash. Both teams go into the game in good form. City will be looking to make it ten league wins in a row and extend their 14-point advantage over Leeds in third.
Farke’s men bounced back from a 1-0 loss against Stoke City with an impressive 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town om Saturday. But the game didn’t come without his team picking up some injury concerns.
Crysencio Summerville and Sam Bryam were both taken off after the hour mark after the former had scored a brace in the first half. The Leeds boss confirmed after the match that both had reported small muscle problems at half time.
Leeds were then handed another injury concern just a few minutes later when influential defender Joe Rodon pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. He has been a key player in Leeds’ current form.
Speaking after the weekend’s game, Farke gave an optimistic update on the trio’s potential availability against City. “Cry and Sam were reporting some minor muscle problems at half-time,” he said, via LeedsLive. “We didn’t want to take any risks, so we had to sub them off.
“Joe Rodon felt something in his hamstring, not an injury, but due to the workload I had to take him out. Joe didn’t want to risk anything, I don’t think it’s a major injury.
