JUST IN: Nottingham forest new coach sacked three players because of…..

The latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds are on a run of six games without a win since recording a 1-0 victory over Chelsea back in September

Nottingham Forest have been warned not to “want too much too soon” amid some talk over the future of manager Steve Cooper.

Forest are on a run of six games without a win. Their last outing saw them fall to a 3-0 away defeat against Liverpool. The poor run of form has seen the club drop to 16th place in the table

It has also led to some criticism of manager Cooper from some areas of the fanbase. Forest have won just one game at home this season, drawing the last three, they return to the City Ground on Sunday when they take on in-form Aston Villa.

Ahead of that game, pundit Michael Brown has given his thoughts on Forest’s season so far. The former midfielder has pointed to performances of Forest against some of the “big six” away from home.

“I’ve been reading the criticism around Steve Cooper and how he is not setting the team up right, that he’s not very adventurous, but you have got to look at his record in the Premier League this season,” he told BBC Sport.

“They were really unfortunate against Manchester United, against Arsenal they were close, then there was the Chelsea game that they actually won, so away from home they have been solid. So what do you do? How much do you change?

“Against Manchester City, they were in and around the game and pushed hard. They caused them a few problems, so you have to say away from home they have been successful with the system they have used.”

The former Leeds United, Tottenham and Manchester City player also sent a warning to Forest over making any rash decisions over the manager. He has urged the club to show patience with the Welshman, as they did last season.

Brown added: “Cooper has had tonnes of injuries to deal with and changes in staff this season. I think he’s a talented coach and I just think everyone has to be patient at Forest. You have to be careful that you don’t want too much too soon – that is the danger.”
