BirminghamLive has the most recent Aston Villa news, with Louie Barry expected to miss a significant amount of time due to a major hamstring injury.

Youngster Louie Barry of Aston Villa will be out for several months after he tore his hamstring during Tuesday’s League Two encounter between Stockport County and Crewe Alexandra.

After being substituted in the 25th minute of County’s victory over Crewe, the 20-year-old has undergone a scan at the hospital. Now, Barry has to have surgery before beginning a recovery regimen.

He had an immediate impact at Stockport after joining on loan there in the summer, making 14 appearances, scoring nine goals, and providing two assists before Tuesday. Last month, he also made history as the first player in the club’s history to score in seven straight games.

Barry was selected September’s League Two player of the month, a testament to his great run for Stockport. After the first 15 games of the season, Stockport has risen to the top of the League Two standings because to his performance.

After joining the club on loan in the second half of the previous season, the Villa loanee played Salford in both legs of the League Two play-off semi-final against Stockport. After an outstanding season at Swindon Town in League Two in 2022, Barry moved up to League One with MK Dons the previous season. However, he only managed one goal in 22 games for The Dons.

Prior to last week’s injury setback, he had contributed 11 goals this season, falling short of his objective of 20.
