Ange Postecoglou has praised Guglielmo Vicario’s contribution for Tottenham Hotspur in their win over Fulham on Monday.

Although pleased with the victory, Postecoglou was dissatisfied with his Tottenham team’s poor second half performance.

And the manager was eager to applaud Vicario for making sure the outcome was never in doubt.

Postecoglou told the BBC after the Tottenham game that he had anticipated Vicario would be less involved against Fulham.

“Outstanding Vic was, really outstanding,” he said.

“He also made a great save in the first half.”

“We haven’t needed him as much this year, but when we have, he’s been fantastic.”

“In the end he was the one who kept a clean sheet for us and kept us in the game.

“I’d like him less busy and could have had him less busy if we had stuck to our game plan.”

Postecoglou expanded on this when speaking to Spurs Play: “Second half we were just really wasteful with the ball, we were really poor, as poor as we were all year.

“Luckily Vic was outstanding in a couple of moments to keep a clean sheet.”

Although Postecoglou was disappointed by his team’s performance, it was Son Heung-Min who had regrets about his own conduct.

Son shared after the game that he wasn’t proud of his reaction to being substituted in the 82nd minute.
