With so many elite players routinely passing through Villa Park, Aston Villa has established itself as a team that rarely makes mistakes in the transfer market these days. Meanwhile, Unai Emery has been the ideal coach to shape those individuals into a team that can cause major upsets in the Premier League.

Villa is said to have made plans ahead of time, with their interest in some Liga Portugal talent being apparent when the winter transfer market opens. This is in addition to the fact that the January transfer window is becoming closer by the day.

News on Aston Villa transfers
Especially after their start in the Premier League this season, Villa will be aiming to stretch their muscles once again come January after proving their newfound power in the market during the summer by adding players like Moussa Diaby, Nicolo Zaniolo, and Pau Torres. Emery’s team is currently four points behind Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the league, sitting in fifth place.

The Villans play West Ham United after the international break. West Ham has started the current season just as brilliantly as the Villans have. Villa may conclude the action-packed weekend as high as third in the table if they can overcome the Hammers. If Emery hits his aims, a finish of this kind could not be too farfetched.

The most recent rumour about Fredrik Aursnes’ transfer is made much more intriguing by their form. Villa is reportedly interested in signing the Benfica midfield player in January, but they have been informed that he is untouchable. The Portuguese team is attempting to hold out until at least next summer, according to Record via Sport Witness. The claim continues the trend of Villa showing interest in Liga Portugal talents, to whom the identical response was made regarding their purported interest in Pedro Goncalves.

Aston Villa is interested in Norway international Aursnes, who is a key player for Benfica and has helped his team launch into an almost flawless Liga Portugal season. After eight games, Benfica is now in second place, one point behind Sporting at the top of the table. In the meantime, he led his team to the league title in Portugal’s top division during his inaugural season.

According to FBref, Aursnes’s stats are superior in several areas to those of current Villa midfielder John McGinn.

That Aursnes has received such great reviews while in Portugal is therefore not surprising. Zach Lowy, for example, wrote on X, “Fredrik Aursnes has been selected as the Champions League Player of the Week.” The Norwegian put on yet another outstanding performance for Benfica; this season, he has been one of the best purchases in Portugal.”

Villa Park might have a memorable season or one that goes down in history if they can convince Aursnes to sign in January, even though they have reportedly been advised that any bid for the Benfica midfield player will be rejected.
