JUST IN: Collingwood issues a statement in response to……

Collingwood have refuted “completely untrue” allegations referring to a pair of players, stating a circling online video does not involve a current or former player of the club and was not filmed by a current or former player of the club.

Allegations had suggested a video that surfaced online involved an explicit act between a player and their partner, with the footage also alleged to have been filmed by the player’s teammate.

The Magpies addressed the allegations on Thursday evening, with CEO Craig Kelly refusing the allegations in a statement while noting the criminal offence that comes with distributing explicit content without one’s consent.

“We are aware of a video currently circulating alleging to involve a Collingwood player and their partner. Another former Collingwood player has been linked to capturing the video,” the statement read.

“The Club wishes to address the matter to make clear both these allegations are completely untrue and the video being circulated does NOT involve any current or former Collingwood players or their partners.

“For all members of the public, it is important to note the distribution of explicit content without the consent of all parties involved is a criminal offence.

“We will continue to support all our players and their families during this time.”

Collingwood ended the 2023 season as premiers following grand final win over Brisbane last month.
