Hwang Ui-Jo of Nottingham Forest scored his 18th goal for South Korea in today’s 4-0 friendly triumph over Tunisia.

The 31-year-old, who is now on loan at Norwich City, came on in the second half and scored in stoppage time to seal the win.

Ui-Jo hasn’t exactly hit the ground running during his loan time at Carrow Road, but his goal over the international break could help kickstart his tenure.

Canaries manager David Wagner has stated that the South Korean will need time to adjust to life at the club.

The 31-year-old has taken his time adjusting to Championship football, having not appeared in a competitive game for Forest since arriving last year.

He hasn’t performed as expected by Norwich supporters so far during his loan term, but today’s goal could be a watershed moment in his career.

Given his scoring record for his country and stints at clubs such as Bordeaux, Hwang appears to be a player who feeds on confidence.

Although he has yet to score for Wagner’s side, the 31-year-old has already demonstrated his worth with an assist in the 2-0 win over Birmingham City before the international break.

After his last goal for South Korea, Norwich manager Wagner should be able to trust Ui-Jo to lead the line in place of the injured Josh Sargent.
