Prior to Sunday’s match against Newcastle United, West Ham will make a last-minute decision about the health of striker Michail Antonio. Injury prevented Antonio from playing in their Europa League victory against Freiburg on Thursday, and David Moyes has acknowledged that he has not yet seen the 33-year-old in practise this week.
Moyes stated: “I will need to see [if Michail is available]” prior to Sunday’s game. He is not yet trained. We will determine if he can play over the following few days once he has jogged a little with the medical team.
In addition to missing Thursday’s game, fullbacks Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson are not anticipated to play against the Magpies as they continue to heal from hamstring and groyne injuries, respectively. After Callum Wilson and Joelinton missed the game over PSG in midweek due to injury, Newcastle will decide on their availability at the last minute.
