David Seaman claims Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins was really upset during Saturday’s demolition of Brighton.

On the Seaman Says podcast, the Arsenal legend reflected on the fantastic match at Villa Park this weekend.
Unai Emery will be delighted with how his side fared against one of the most exciting sides in the tournament.

Brighton’s reputation for playing the best football in the Premier League proved to be their downfall on Saturday.

Aston Villa absorbed the pressure created by Roberto De Zerbi’s team before launching countless destructive counter-attacks.

Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby caused major problems for Brighton’s centre-backs and reaped the rewards. Watkins claimed his first hat-trick of the season after scoring three goals against Hibernian in the Europa Conference League.

However, Seaman found Watkins upset that he was not scoring more goals.

The 27-year-old sensed an opportunity to fill his shoes when Brighton surrendered to Villa Park.

Speaking about the match, Seaman said:
“[Ollie] Watkins is very pleased with his hat-trick!

“Did you see when he came on, I think it was the fifth or sixth goal, when he shot and the goalkeeper saved it and then he came and took the counter-attack?
“If you look at Ollie Watkins, he fell to the ground because he was so upset he didn’t get four points! Very funny. “I was like, wait, your team just scored but he was even more disappointed that he didn’t take his chance.”

Watkins has been outstanding this season, John McGinn feels his performances have sometimes gone unnoticed by fans.
