Aaron Ramsey is “absolutely gutted” to report that he sustained a knee injury during training but has pledged to return to help Cardiff City as soon as possible.
Wales captain Gareth Bale has missed the last three Cardiff games due to what was initially described as a minor injury. However, Erol Bulut announced on Thursday afternoon that Ramsey will be out for at least three weeks, but that might be extended if surgery is required. Bulut, who stated the club is waiting for the scan results, hopes that isn’t the case.
Ramsey’s injury woes have been well known in previous seasons, but he appeared to be in good health after returning to his boyhood club in the summer. Ramsey, according to Bulut, was in excellent physical and mental shape. Sign up here to receive the most recent Bluebirds news in your email.
However, Ramsey recently suffered a tendon injury on the back of his knee while attempting to shift direction during a Bluebirds training session. It’s the same knee that the midfielder, 32, underwent surgery on a few years ago. The injury might possibly keep him out of Wales’ crucial match against Croatia on October 15.
Following the announcement of his injury, Ramsey rushed to social media to say, “Absolutely gutted to say that I picked up an injury in training last week.” On the next stages, I shall seek expert counsel. I’m determined to return and assist the squad as soon as possible.”
Ramsey will miss the Bluebirds’ games against Rotherham United on Saturday and Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
Ramsey’s injury was described by Captain Joe Ralls. “It’s a huge setback. Personally, I feel terrible for him. He’s been fantastic for us, and I’m hoping to see him as soon as possible. Hopefully, more people will step forward now.”He is exceptional. He has made significant contributions in terms of goals and assists. It’s widely acknowledged that we didn’t score enough goals last year, and we’ve remedied that this year, with his creative production playing a role. He works hard and has a powerful engine. He is a fantastic player who we will undoubtedly miss.”
