Burnley have been drawn against Everton in the fourth round of the League Cup this season, with the game set to take place at Goodison Park in the week beginning Monday, October 30th.

It will be the first time the two teams have met in the competition, and the first time we have been paired in any cup competition since the third round of the FA Cup in 1966/67.

While we defeated

Forest and Salford to advance to this round, Everton had two away games against Doncaster and Aston Villa, which they won today.

And with that, the final 16.
Momentum is growing, and players are desperate to keep each other out of the side (Pato/Young even before Seamus returned, Beto/DCL).

Should be interesting in a month’s time; if they only have a point, I expect them to surrender before we assault.

I was expecting the normal excursion to Anfield or Old Trafford…

Burnley, from what I’ve seen of them, don’t sit back, so it should be a good cup tie at Goodison Park.

Burnley are no longer the club they once were. I’ve always linked that club with offensive and entertaining football, especially the 1959-60 squad.

Everton were thrashed away at the start of the season and then lost at home a fortnight later. I recall Jimmy McIlroy and Ray Pointer befuddling the Everton defenders by passing the ball to each other for the entire length of the ground before Pointer scored.

The Everton supporters praised the two Burnley players for their outstanding performance with a standing ovation. I believe the Blues will exact their vengeance this time.

Burnley at home in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals, tell me this trophy doesn’t mean now?
our is a significant cup for our club, and it’s a good respite from the league problems we’ve had to face as supporters in recent years.

Tell me the cup run wasn’t welcome, just like it was during the 1995 FA Cup run, when we were all terrified about being relegated that year.
