breaking news paiyer form Liverpool supporter feared that a Liverpool journalist’s injury theory would be updated.

The complete absence of Joe Gomez from Liverpool’s squad for their Carabao Cup match against Leicester City could be a terrible omen for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“With Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister, and Virgil van Dijk still available in reserve, Liverpool should have more than enough to get the job done tonight.”

“However, Gomez’s absence is intriguing. He’s had a fantastic start to the season, but it’s possible that Trent Alexander-Arnold won’t be able to face Spurs this weekend.”

The club has yet to clarify whether or not this hypothesis is correct, but it’s also worth noting that the 26-year-old isn’t the only prominent addition to the matchday squad.

The No.66 has recently returned to training after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Another absence ahead of our Saturday showdown with Tottenham would be a huge blow, especially given how difficult the game appears to be from the start.

To be fair to our backup alternatives, Gomez has excelled despite the absence of our first-choice right-back and Virgil van Dijk prior to our 3-1 win over West Ham United.

There’s no doubt we’ll be happy to see Trent back in action at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but no one should be throwing toys out the pram if our No.2 is asked to play.
