However, there is a compelling case to be made for the 18-year-old to be named to the bench. Even if he doesn’t make the squad, the experience of going with the first team for an away game could be crucial.

In an ideal scenario, West Ham would be well ahead of Lincoln with roughly 30 minutes remaining. Then Moyes will be able to send Marshall into the game without worry of a) his team losing and b) the teenager making a costly error.

The Hammers fans are eager to see what the young forward can do.
