For their trip to the Saints this week, LEICESTER City may be without up to three players, but defender Conor Coady might return.

The England international suffered an injury during preseason and has not yet made a competitive appearance for Enzo Maresca’s team.

Coady, 30, a former player for Wolves and Everton, missed the first few weeks of training but returned on schedule this week.

Coady, who is scheduled to play in the Championship for the first time since winning the league with Wolves in 2018, might find Friday night to be too early.

Dennis Praet, a 15-cap Belgian international who featured in Leicester’s opening two league games, will not be available.

In advance of the Foxes’ most recent match against Hull, Maresca announced that midfielder Praet had suffered a back injury and would be out for at least three months.

Alex Smithies, the club’s backup goalkeeper, is still sidelined as well, but he hasn’t played since joining in the summer.
