Newcastle United backed to land ‘superstar’ signing amid ‘big’ claim – pundit
This season, Newcastle United will add a “big signing” to the roster.
Former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie remarked in an exclusive interview with Football Insider that Newcastle needs proven winners among their ranks if they intend to compete for trophies in the future.
Even though the Saudi Public Investment Fund took over the Magpies in 2021, there hasn’t been a rush of high-profile acquisitions.
Instead, Eddie Howe’s team has chosen to add players that align with the club’s vision while also emphasising the development of the squad’s present players.
The Magpies also welcomed Harvey Barnes from Leicester and Tino Livramento from Southampton this summer. Sandro Tonali came to them from AC Milan.
However, McAvennie emphasised that the team must make a significant investment in at least one player.
He informed Football Insider that the team would be adding top-notch players.
“They need major superstars, whether or not they want to bring them in. Without players like that on your team, you cannot win, and I believe they will succeed.
