Derby County in fresh transfer claim over deadline day bid for winger

Derbyshire Live’s most recent news on Derby County tells you what has been reported regarding the Rams’ interest in Corey Blackett-Taylor.

On the day of the transfer deadline, Derby County allegedly made an effort to acquire Corey Blackett-Taylor from League One’s opponent Charlton Athletic.

According to London News Online, the winger’s contract at Valley is about to expire, and the Addicks rejected a proposal from the Rams for him.
Paul Warne, the head coach of the Rams, has previously stated that he was looking to add pace to his attack late in the season and that he wants to add another winger in the same vein as Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

The 12 Derby County players whose contracts expire in the summer

With his contract expiring in the summer, the winger, 25, could be back on Derby’s radar when the transfer window reopens in January. He scored eight goals for Charlton last season.
Although ambitious Wrexham tried to get Charlton’s captain George Dobson, Blackett-Taylor wasn’t the only player for whom Derby was in negotiations.

Both the Championship and Germany expressed interest in Miles Leaburn.
Marvin Johnson was attempting to be loaned out from Derby to Sheffield Wednesday before the deadline of 11 p.m.

However, the deal couldn’t go through due to the Championship club’s financial requirements.

Johnson has now been left in limbo as a result given he was not named in Wednesday’s squad that had to be registered with the Football League this week.

He clearly doesn’t feature in Xisco Munoz’s plans and may regret not sending him to Derby given he is now set to be in the stands until January.
