THIS IS THE BEST NEWS WE COULD HOPE FOR: Celtics fc has officially complete a deal to sign a talented Forward / Striker Anthony Elanga from…. See more
Celtic FC supporters could have a major reason to celebrate, with reports claiming that the Scottish giants have completed a deal to sign talented forward Anthony Elanga.
Elanga, a Swedish international known for his pace, direct running and attacking ability, would represent a huge addition to Celtic’s attacking options. The 24-year-old is primarily a winger rather than a traditional centre-forward, but his versatility allows him to operate in advanced attacking positions. Current player profiles list him with Newcastle United, having joined from Nottingham Forest in a reported £55 million deal in July 2025.
If this proposed Celtic move were to become official, it would be a significant statement of ambition from the club. Elanga has already experienced football at the highest level, developing through Manchester United before establishing himself at Nottingham Forest and later moving to Newcastle United.
A New Dimension in Attack
Elanga’s biggest strengths are his speed, movement and ability to attack defenders. His presence could give Celtic another dangerous option in the final third, particularly when the team looks to transition quickly from defence into attack.
His ability to play from wide areas could also create more space for Celtic’s central attackers. With his pace, Elanga could stretch opposing defences and provide opportunities for teammates to attack the spaces created.
A Major Statement
For Celtic supporters, the reported arrival would be more than just another transfer. Signing a player with Premier League and international experience would demonstrate serious ambition and could raise expectations ahead of the new campaign.
Elanga has also represented Sweden at international level and was included in Sweden’s 2026 World Cup squad.
At this stage, however, the claim that Celtic have officially completed the transfer should be treated as unconfirmed. Recent reliable records still list Elanga as a Newcastle United player, so supporters should wait for an official announcement from Celtic or Newcastle before considering the move completed.
