Manchester City FC supporters would be dreaming of a blockbuster midfield addition after reports linked the club with a move for German playmaker Florian Wirtz.

Wirtz is widely regarded as one of the most gifted attacking midfielders of his generation. However, the claim that Manchester City have officially completed a deal for him is not supported by current reliable reports. As of August 26, 2026, Wirtz is a Liverpool player, having joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2025. Liverpool’s own official website also recently confirmed that he was preparing for his second season with the club.
