After a source’s updated £200 million bid, commentator says Liverpool was instructed to replace a talented player

After a source’s updated £200 million bid, commentator says Liverpool was instructed to replace Mohamed Salah immediately.

Liverpool can hold off on replacing Mohamed Salah until January and ought to take the lucrative Saudi offer.

Former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton believes bids of £150 million or more are too good to pass up given Salah’s advanced age in an exclusive interview with Football Insider.

After signing a contract extension with Anfield last summer, the 31-year-old has two years left on his current deal.

Al Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League already had a £100 million (or £150 million with add-ons) initial offer rejected before the English transfer market closed on Friday, September 1.

Football Insider said on September 2 that Liverpool expects the team to make a revised offer for Salah worth £200 million before their transfer window closes on September 7th.

Al Ittihad is thought to have received some encouragement from the attacker’s camp that he is willing to join after their original offer was declined.

Hutton responded to Football Insider’s query about whether the Reds could genuinely refuse a lucrative offer for Salah by saying, “You have to remember what he has done for the club.

In terms of goals, assists, and everything else he has contributed to the squad, he has been great.

“I just think that he is 31 now, and given how excellent he has been, it is very tough to turn down a £200 million offer, especially if he is the one who wants to move.

“It is smart business if Salah wants to consider the offer and Liverpool may earn £200 million. I believe they have the players there to handle it right now, even if they have to wait until January to find a successor.
