Brentford FC right-back Michael Kayode continues to attract attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs following an impressive campaign in the Premier League.

However, reports of Kayode rejecting a contract with Manchester City should currently be treated as unconfirmed transfer speculation. Manchester City have previously been linked with the highly rated defender, but there is no confirmed report that Kayode has rejected a formal contract from the club.

In fact, Brentford moved quickly to secure Kayode’s future by handing him a new long-term contract until 2032, with an additional club option for another year. The Bees clearly view the 22-year-old as an important part of their future.

Kayode enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 season and was even nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award. His performances have naturally generated interest from top clubs, but his new contract puts Brentford in a strong position should serious offers arrive.
