IT IS OVER: Rangers FC Manager Derek McInnes Submits Resignation Letter Following Dramatic Development

Rangers FC have reportedly been plunged into fresh uncertainty after claims emerged that manager Derek McInnes has submitted his resignation letter following a dramatic turn of events at Ibrox.

The reports come just one day after McInnes finally secured his first victory as Rangers manager, with the team producing an impressive 5–1 victory over St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup. That result had appeared to ease some of the pressure surrounding the manager after a difficult opening to his reign.

McInnes only took charge of Rangers in June 2026, signing a three-year contract after leaving Hearts. The club had expressed confidence in his experience and ability to lead Rangers back to challenging for major honours.

However, the opening weeks of his tenure have been extremely challenging. In fact, recent reports continue to describe him as Rangers manager, while the club has been actively working with him on recruitment and the development of young players.
