Liverpool’s No 66 will not be joining his national team-mates but will be staying home to recuperate from a hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa
The vice-captain had to be substituted after 71 minutes on Sunday and the injury is thought to be serious enough to keep him out of England’s matches against Ukraine and Scotland
This means Alexander-Arnold can now be considered a suspect for Liverpool’s Premier League game against Wolves, which takes place at 12:30pm (BST) on Saturday 16 September, shortly after the international competition.
After the match against Villa, Jurgen Klopp said:
“It’s [his] hamstring – not too bad, that’s his opinion
Meanwhile, Quansah will also stay at Merseyside during the international break. Liverpool announced their withdrawal from the England U20 team but did not give a reason.
This could mean he’s injured or simply his stay with the Reds over the next few weeks is arguably more useful to him, espeially as the Under-20 teams are only expected to will attend training camp.
Ryan Gravenberch was certainly thinking that way when he decided to retire from Holland U21 duties.
The Dutchman has since been criticized by the country’s first coach, Ronald Koeman:
“We are not happy that he refuses to play for his country.”
And this, even if the manager has yet to pick him into any of his senior teams.
Ibrahima Konate is another Liverpool player; Due to his current injury, he will miss matches held in France. Injury, international break, Jarell Quansah, Trent Alexander-Arnold
