Celtic centre-back suffers injury setback as seen in post-Old Firm video

Liam Scales, a defender for Celtic, has been discussing his future plans following his game-changing performance at Ibrox on Sunday.

Using the word “breakthrough” to describe a player who was signed more than two years ago sounds a little odd. But Scales’ effort in Celtic’s victory over Rangers was unquestionably his greatest in a Celtic uniform to date.

Alongside Gustaf Lagerbielke, the Irishman made a shaky start, but as the game progressed, he gained confidence and was eventually awarded the game’s MVP by broadcasters Sky Sports.

In reality, Lagerbielke, the new Celtic center-back pairing, appeared to make more mistakes.

Scales told the Daily Record after the game, “All I can do is do my best. “I need to make the manager’s job difficult while still giving good performances.

And if I can perform well, play well, defend well, and be good with the ball in every game I play, then I will at least give him a headache.

“I am currently only focusing on it. I’m simply taking it game by game and doing all I can to force him to make a choice.

“Perhaps if there weren’t a few injuries, I wouldn’t have had this opportunity. But I must take advantage of this fantastic situation while I have it.

He has faith in my abilities as a player. The only thing left to do was to enter the game and play my game since I had a complete preseason to get acquainted to the style of play.Liam Scales signs for the Hoops - Shamrock Rovers - Shamrock Rovers F.C. is delighted to confirm that Ireland U21 International Liam Scales has signed for the club. There are many things to respect in Scales’ honesty. He is well aware of his current position within the team and where he will likely be used once the injured central defenders are back.
