Boston Celtics Officially Sign Elite 3-Point Shooter

The Boston Celtics have officially signed Svi Mykhailiuk.

Svi Mykhailiuk had an outstanding senior season for the Kansas Jayhawks, where he averaged 14.6 points per contest while shooting 44.4% from the three-point range.

The strong season made him the 47th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Last year, the 26-year-old played for the New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets and averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field and 42.4% from the three-point range in 32 regular season games.

On August 31, the Boston Celtics officially announced that they have signed Mykhailiuk.

Via The Celtics: “The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed forward Svi Mykhailiuk. Per team policy, the terms have not been disclosed.”

Last year, the Celtics ranked sixth in the NBA, shooting 37.4% from the three-point range.

Therefore, Mykhailiuk could end up being a significant addition to their bench, based on the way they play.

His career averages are 6.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 40.3% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range in 252 regular season games (he also appeared in three NBA playoff games with the Toronto Raptors).

As for the Celtics, they are coming off a year where they were the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

They beat the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers in the first two rounds, but lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
