The Detroit Pistons have completely transformed their team since Troy Weaver took over as general manager.
He inherited a team with less talent and even less hope, when the veterans were past their prime and their young players were still underdeveloped.
What a difference in three years, because not a single player on this list is still on the team.
We’ve seen some guys (Bruce Brown, Christian Wood) flourish with other teams, but for the most part, the rest of the squad has scattered and either stayed out of the league or barely survived.

7 Pistons players gave up too soon
This includes our old friend Svi Mykhailiuk (whose name I am still typing) who is still running around the league trying to be the 3 and D roleplayer many of us think he is.
It will be for the Detroit Pistons.
Piston News:
Svi Mykhailiuk signs with Boston Celtics
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Svi Mykhailiuk has signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons’ arch-enemy, the Boston Celtics:

Mykhailiuk, still just 26 years old, has been back in the league since being dropped from Detroit for Hamidou Diallo.
Since then, he has played for the Thunder, Raptors, Knicks and Hornets.
He had a great time for Charlotte last season so it’s a bit of a surprise they didn’t bring him back, but Mykhailiuk still had the best season of his career with the Pistons in 2019-20, with an average almost 10 goals per game.
and hits.
more than 40 percent within 3 points.
Some of us think he has a future with the Pistons, who have been chasing the 3-pointer for years.
The problem is that Mykhailiuk never offers it often and struggles to stay healthy.
But I always thought he could become something if he got into the right team, and so can the Boston Celtics, because he won’t be asked to do anything but come on off the bench.
and take the 3 point shot and there will be plenty of openings for him.
If Mykhailiuk can contribute to the Celtics’ championship title next season, it will be two years in a row that a sidelined Pistons player has helped bring home the ring after Bruce Brown, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson did that for the Nuggets last season.
