Brentford FC have officially completed the signing of highly-rated Mali international midfielder Mamadou Sangaré from French side RC Lens, in a major move for the Bees.

The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract, with Brentford holding an option to extend the deal for a further year. The transfer is reportedly a club-record deal for Brentford.

Sangaré arrives at Brentford after an impressive spell at Lens, where he played an important role during the club’s successful 2025/26 campaign. He made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

Known for his energy, defensive work, ball recovery and ability to contribute in midfield, Sangaré is expected to bring greater strength and dynamism to Brentford’s midfield.
