NEWS NOW: Nottingham Forest are about to make last minute bid for ‘brilliant’ 21-year-old – Fabrizio Romano.

Nottingham Forest have made a deadline-day bid to try and land Andrew Omobamidele from Norwich City. The Reds have failed in their quest to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea and have now turned their attention elsewhere.

Things are going mental at the City Ground on transfer deadline day. Forest are now going for Omobamidele, according to Fabrizio Romano, who has his finger firmly on the pulse.

Omobamidele is regarded as a wonderkid. Indeed, if Football Manager is to be believed, the player has a promising future in the game.

The 21-year-old joined Norwich in 2018 and began his career with the club’s development team. He has progressed through the academy ranks and currently has 55 senior appearances at Carrow Road.

Omobamidele has made six international appearances for the Republic of Ireland. After one appearance, Paul McGrath praised him, calling him ‘excellent’ and suggesting that the future looked bright.

The Reds are hoping to get a deal for Ibrahim Sangare over the line on transfer deadline day. The club have already signed Nuno Tavares, Nicolas Dominguez and Callum Hudson-Odoi on a frantic deadline day.

Forest want Omobamidele

This link emerged shortly after it was claimed that Hwang Ui-jo was being eyed by the Canaries. Time will tell whether or not a deal can be struck to intertwine the two deals.

Omobamidele would be a very useful addition. He is tall and uncompromising but can also play the ball out from the back as a ball-playing central defender.

Forest aren’t particularly short in the back four. Murillo joined the club yesterday, joining Willy Boly, Scott McKenna, Joe Worrall, and Moussa Niakhate Felipe.

Omobamidele, on the other hand, is only 21 years old. As a result, if he signs, he will not be required to register as a member of Forest’s 25-man squad for the 2023/24 season.
