Nottingham Forest are still interested in the 27-year-old, but he refuses to leave on deadline day.

Nottingham Forest still want to sign Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham, however, the Colombian central defender wants to stay in North London.

The Mail Online are reporting that the 27-year-old want to stay and fight for his position at the club under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Sanchez has been linked with the Reds for the last couple of months, even rumoured to be included in a potential player-plus-cash deal for Brennan Johnson.

However, with Sanchez staying at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, any deal for Johnson may now have to be a straight cash deal, totalling as much as £50 million.

Where do Nottingham Forest go from here?

Steve Cooper’s side added to their defensive department yesterday, with the signing of Murillo from Corinthians for a fee in the region of £14 million.

Despite the arrival of Murillo, Forest are still looking to recruit one more central defender ahead of the closure of the window at 11 pm tonight.

With just over 12 hours to go until the closure, the Reds may miss out on another defender, however, Felipe has been pictured back in training this week which comes as a boost to the Forest rearguard.

The club are also looking to bring in a wing-back, with a deal to sign Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares close on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

One thing is for sure, Cooper’s team will have a late night tonight, with at least five potential incomings pending at the City Ground.
