Sunderland set to complete signing of 21-year-old from Ligue 1

Adil Aouchiche’s transfer to Sunderland is about to be finalised, according to L’Equipe (via Michael Graham).
The 21-year-old Auochiche has already made numerous appearances in Ligue

Prior to making his first significant senior breakthroughs at St Etienne, the midfielder developed at PSG.

He currently represents Lorient, but after making 11 league appearances the previous year, he might be moving on.

The teenager is expected to be the newest French youth to join Sunderland’s ranks as the transaction is reportedly close to being finalised. He appears set to agree to a five-year contract with Wearside.

Sunderland look set for a busy final day of business.

Fans are eager for the club to build on their top six finish last season, but to do that they will have to have a near perfect final day of the summer window.

Ross Stewart appears to be on the way out, and others might be next. Auochiche, though, is a strong addition and something that fans are accustomed to seeing under the present administration.

The 21-year-old is a wonderful match for the mould. Although he still has time and room to develop, he already has 81 Ligue 1 outings under his belt, so he won’t be short of experience when he moves to England.

It appears like he had a difficult time at Lorient, but if he signs with Sunderland today, it will be hoped that he can rediscover his old form.
