Stoke City have agreed to terms with South Korean Under-20 midfielder Bae Junho on a four-year contract for an undisclosed amount.

The 20-year-old joins from Daejeon Hana Citizen in the K-League, where he has made 17 appearances this season after helping the team achieve promotion to the top level last season.

Junho described his transfer to England as “a dream come true.”

He will become the Potters’ 15th summer signing once the transaction is completed, subject to international clearance.

Stoke technical director Ricky Martin stated that the club’s intention to “widen the net in terms of tracking players from outside of the UK and Europe” was demonstrated by the club’s recruitment of Junho.

“Clearly, there needs to be an adaptation phase for Junho as he makes the transition to a new environment,” he continued. We are thrilled about his potential and feel he will continue to progress as he becomes acquainted to our club and the English game.
