Ansu Fati, a forward for Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, is close to joining Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ansu Fati, a forward wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and currently playing for Barcelona, is close to joining rival Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, per The Athletic.

During the active transfer window, Spurs were pondering a move for the Spain international. The Seagulls, though, seem poised to outbid North London for the forward’s services.

Ansu Fati, a forward wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and currently playing for Barcelona, is close to joining rival Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, per The Athletic.

During the current transfer window, Spurs were thinking about signing the Spain international. The Seagulls, though, look poised to beat North London in the race to sign the forward.

This summer, the 20-year-old will sign a season-long loan with the East Sussex-based team. The proposed agreement does not, however, include a right or duty to purchase the child from the Blaugrana.

In the 2019–2020 academic year, Fati made a splash in Barcelona after navigating the renowned La Masia. The forward first attracted a lot of notice with his displays for the Blaugrana.

Fati remained mostly in shape over the previous campaign. But Xavi didn’t appear to believe in him. This season, the Spaniard has also made three substitute appearances.

Therefore, it is obvious that we could use a ninth member of our team. However, Son Heung-min plays the left wing for the Lilywhites, where Fati primarily plays.

Therefore, it appeared that the Spaniard’s playing time wasn’t guaranteed had he joined Spurs. Although Brighton also has some excellent talent up front, there is perhaps a better opportunity for the young player to play regularly with the Seagulls.
