Ryan Gravenberch ‘hoping to join Liverpool or Manchester United before deadline’
Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is reportedly hopeful of joining either Liverpool or Manchester United before the end of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old’s future has recently been the subject of much speculation, and he has refused to rule out a move away from Allianz Arena before Friday’s deadline.
Both Liverpool and Man United are being heavily linked with the Netherlands international, who has only played nine minutes of competitive football for Bayern this season.
Man United are thought to view the midfielder as an alternative to Fiorentina‘s Sofyan Amrabat, while Liverpool are also bidding to boost their midfield department before the window closes.
According to the Daily Mail, Gravenberch is still hoping that he will be able to secure a switch to either of the Premier League clubs in the final stages of the market.
The report claims that Bayern are currently looking for a replacement for the midfielder and have identified Fulham‘s Joao Palhinha as a genuine target.
Chelsea‘s Conor Gallagher has also been linked with a switch to Allianz Arena, while Scott McTominay, who continues to be linked with a move away from Man United, is thought to be admired by Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel.
Gravenberch started his professional career with Ajax, where his performances saw him linked with many of the biggest clubs in European football.
Bayern won the race to sign the Dutchman in the summer of 2022, and he featured on 33 occasions during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring once and providing one assist in the process.
The midfielder found it difficult to secure regular starts, though, and he is expected to be on the move before Friday’s transfer deadline, most likely on loan.
Bayern are in a strong position when it comes to Gravenberch’s future, with his current terms in Munich due to run until June 2027.
Man United are believed to have submitted a loan offer for Amrabat, but it is thought that Fiorentina are only interested in a permanent exit for the Morocco international.
Erik ten Hag‘s side could therefore potentially switch their attention to Gravenberch in the latter stages of the widow, with the midfielder seemingly holding out for a move to the Premier League.
