Tottenham join Brennan Johnson transfer race as Nottingham Forest reject £35m bid from Premier League side | The Irish Sun

Tottenham are in talks with Nottingham Forest over a potential £50million deal for Brennan Johnson.

talkSPORT understands Spurs are eyeing a move for the forward in the final week of the transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are keen to add depth in their attacking department following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich.

Johnson, who was subject of a £40m bid from Brentford last summer, is a player the former Celtic boss is keen on.

The 22-year-old helped Nottingham Forest to retain their Premier League status at the end of last season.

He netted eight goals and provided three assists as the Tricky Threes ended the campaign 16th.

Johnson has started in all three of Forest’s matches so far this season, but is yet to find the back of the net.

The Wales international was a target for Chelsea, but their interest has since cooled, paving the way for Spurs to seal a swoop.

Tottenham have already made eight additions this summer for a total cost of £167.8m.

Defender Micky van de Ven, who joined the club from Wolfsburg, is the most expensive recruit so far at £43m.

Spurs are also understood to be interested in a move for Fulham ace Tosin Adarabioyo, who is also a target for Monaco.

But it’s believed they will be concentrating on outgoings before they can get a deal for Johnson over the line.
