Philogene made his debut for the Villans back in May 2021 under head coach Dean Smith and has made six appearances for the first-team in total, including three in the Premier League.

One of the appearances was in last weekend’s 5-1 mauling suffered at the hands of a revived Newcastle United. With just three minutes of normal time remaining, Philogene was brought on for fullback Matty Cash.

Unai Emery’s men played today at Villa Park and came away with an emphatic 4-0 win over Everton. Philogene-Bidace did not even make the bench this time around and so a move may be imminent

Journalist Darren Witcoop has further backed Hull Live’s report, claiming that Stoke City were in talks with Aston Villa to sign Philogene but Hull City have swooped in and stolen the exciting winger’s signature.

The 21-year-old spent the last eighteen months on loan in the Championship, firstly with Stoke during the second half of the 2021/22 season and then with Cardiff City for all of last term.

Nevertheless, a deal between the Tigers and Villa will be permanent and could be confirmed this week, although no official fee has been reported as of yet.

Writer’s View

Philogene-Bidace is fully fit, having spent all of pre-season in Aston Villa’s training campaign in preparation for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

The attacker will be a superb addition to Liam Rosenior’s squad alongside Burnley loanee Scott Twine who made his debut away at Blackburn Rovers this weekend in an impressive 2-1 win.

Philogene is an England U20s international and a player with experience both in the Championship as well as England’s top-flight, meaning this could be an excellent acquisition by Hull City.Sources: Aston Villa reject Fenerbahce bid for winger who's attracting widespread European interest
